Owen W. Sutton

Owen Sutton is highly respected in the historic preservation industry and has worked with many architects, engineers, and clients to achieve recognition maintaining historic architectural restoration. His background in archaeology and historic preservation gives him a diverse understanding of the problems of saving a building and its history. As a preservation contractor, since 1991, he has specialized in restoring historic properties in San Diego dating from the 1800s to the 1930s.

Owen received his M.A is in Historic Preservation with over two years of graduate studies in Building Archaeology. He has over forty years of experience in Construction, Restoration, Preservation and Archaeological Investigation, on land and underwater. He is a licensed general contractor in the State of California who has an MA in Historic Preservation and in addition, he is an accredited instructor with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) who teaches and certifies contractors in the Renovate, Repair and Paint program for lead-based paint in accordance to the EPA program.
